Bangladeshi all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan is one of the most famous cricketers coming from his country. He started his cricketing career being a spinner but then also added batting to his game. Since the last five years, he has emerged as one of the best all-rounders in the game, and his stats back his ability on the field. Once a captain, now he has been given a key role to help the team’s youth. He is one of the most experienced players in any roster and will remain one of the game’s most influential players.

On 13 January 2017, he registered the highest individual score (217) by a Bangladeshi batsman in Tests. In November 2018, he became the first bowler for Bangladesh to take 200 wickets in Tests. In June 2019, Shakib became the fastest player to score 6,000 runs and take 250 wickets in ODIs in just 199 matches. He is the highest run-scorer as well as the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in ICC ODI World Cups. He is also the only cricketer to score 1000 runs and take 30 wickets in the World Cup. At the 2019 Cricket World Cup, Shakib became the first cricketer to score 600 runs and take 10 wickets in a single World Cup.

On 29 October 2019, the International Cricket Council (ICC) banned Shakib from all cricket for two years, with one year suspended, after breaching the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code. In 2020, Wisden named him the 2nd most valuable ODI cricketer of the 21st century.
