Naveen-ul-Haq: Career Highlights

Inspired by the national team’s performance in the 2012 T20 World Cup, Naveen-ul-Haq decided to take up cricket seriously at a very young age. Known for his unique and unorthodox bowling action, he debuted for the national side at 17 in 2016. He rose to fame during the subsequent U-19 World Cup held in New Zealand in 2018, where Afghan boys put up a noteworthy performance during the entire course of the tournament. He was also the captain of that side.

Naveen-ul-Haq started playing age level cricket for Afghanistan from a very young age. He was drafted into Afghanistan U-19 team during the 2016 ICC U-19 World Cup. He bowls fast and is very accurate, making him one of the most feared fast bowlers. After some prolific performances for Afghanistan Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament 2018, he was included in Afghanistan Premiere League in 2018.

His performances were closely watched, and he was finally drafted into Afghanistan team when Afghanistan toured Bangladesh for ODI and a T20I series. He was also included in the side when West Indies toured India in November 2019. He bowled exceptionally well, and in years to come, he can become Afghanistan’s fast bowling spearhead.
