Morne Morkel who is the fast bowler of South Africa has signed with Brisbane Heat for BBL. This year he has signed up with Heat for the full season as he has attained permanent residency.
Morkel said that he is looking forward to his journey with the team. He said that he is enjoying cricket.
Morkel had earlier played for the Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils, and Kolkata Knight Riders franchises.
On the other hand, Billings will join the Sydney Thunder team. He said that the journey in Big Bash will boost his confidence.
He also said that one of the major reasons behind him joining the Thunder team was his friendship with the coach.
About Morne Morkel
Morkel had taken retirement from all forms of international cricket in the year 2018. However, he later announced this year that he will be a part of the Big Bash League.
This year the Australian Cricket Board has made some changes to the inclusion of international cricketers in their team.
Around three international players can be included in each team. The teams are looking out for big international players to be added to their team.
Morkel has joined Brisbane Heat as a domestic player. He has also received permanent residency.
Morkel is the second Australian player after Johan Botha to play in the league as a local player. Morkel was also a part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise. He played for the team from 2009 to 2012.
After this, he played for the Delhi-based franchise from 2011 to 2013. He took up 25 wickets by playing a total of 16 matches.
Morkel played the last match for Kolkata Knight Riders team. He played for the franchise from the year 2014 to the year 2016.
