IPL 2020 Eliminator: David Warner made his highest score of the season – 85 not out off 58 balls – and Wriddhiman Saha provided his value as a hitter up the order as the Sunrisers waltzed into the playoffs. Their win also meant the Kolkata Knight Riders, who had the same points (14) as the Sunrisers and the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the end of the league stage, lost out on a playoff spot because of their inferior net run rate. And after last night’s spectacles, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the IPL 2020 Eliminator
Sunrisers Hyderabad: The Story So Far
Under their newly appointed captain David Warner, the SRH have cruised into the IPL Playoffs and are all set to take on Virat Kohli and his men in the IPL 2020 Eliminator. David Warner and Johnny Bairstow have been the key for SRH at the top of the order and the explosive openers have continued their last year’s form in this year’s IPL as well. Meanwhile, Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey have been anchoring the innings in the middle order.
SRH has found new talents in young prodigies such as T Natrajan, Priyam Garg, Abhishek Sharma, and many others who have played valuable knocks at crucial times. Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, And T Natrajan have been the constant wicket-takers throughout this year’s IPL. Coming in place of injured Johnny Bairstow, Jason Holder has been picking up key wickets at crucial intervals and chipping in with some valuable runs at the end of the innings. Saha is a powerplay supernova. He loves batting with the field up. And this year, against the Delhi Capitals, he showed that he had developed his game enough to remain a threat even when those five men retreat to the boundary.
Will The RCB Finally Lift The Trophy This Year?
Virat Kohli and his men have been the talking point of this year’s IPL. Despite their loss to the Delhi Capitals the other night, the RCB has managed to bag themselves a play-off spot. Though Virat Kohli has been a tad inconsistent this season, the team has made up for it. RCB has found a new young prodigy in Devdatta Paddikal, who has scored 6 half-centuries in IPL 2020. As always, Ab De Villiers has been brilliant with the bat and the gloves throughout the tournament, and now the RCB is all set to face the SRH in the IPL 2020 Eliminator.
Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Siraj, Navdeep Saini, and Washington Sundar have been the backbone of RCB’s bowling lineup. Siraj and Sundar have been consistently taking the crucial wickets at the top whereas Saini and Chahal have been elegantly sweeping out the rest of the opposition. Given their consistency throughout this year’s IPL, it will be interesting to see whether the RCB will finally lift the trophy this year
