He shared a post on Instagram saying that he has always enjoyed cricket. However, he cannot play this time due to the circumstances. He said that there is more to life than just cricket.
He further added that he has full faith in his team and will go ahead in IPL.
He is not the first cricketer to withdraw from this season of IPL. Earlier cricketers like James Vince, Tymal Mills, Lewis Gregory from England have left IPL due to COVID.
Health Issues of Chriss Lynn
The cricketer said that he does not play this time due to his health issues. He had earlier suffered from shoulder injuries while diving on the cricket field.
He had also suffered from shoulder reconstructions before. He will be quarantined for a period of 14 days according to the rules of the Australian government.
He is however heading to his home due to the increasing threat of COVID-19. The cricketer does not want to play in this risky situation.
Earlier on this Sunday, he smashed a century from just 52 balls. He scored 113 runs in just 55 balls. He has already paved the route to the semifinals for his team.
He was a member of Sunrisers Hyderabad last year. In a recent Instagram post he shared a picture with his mother stating that she has cured from cancer.
