Eoin Morgan is appointed as KKR captain

Eoin Morgan is going to be the new captain of the two times winner Kolkata Knight Riders. Dinesh Karthik who is the current captain of the team has failed to score good runs in this season.

He has scored 108 runs in the past seven matches including the one-half century.

Dinesh Karthik wants to improve his batting and focus more on his skills and has therefore handover his captaincy to Eoin Morgan.

Karthik got the captaincy of the team in the year 2018 after replacing Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir then joined the team Delhi Capitals as his previous team did not retain him.

Kolkata Knight Riders finished at fifth place in the year 2019. Right now Kolkata Knight Riders are running at the fourth position on the points table.

Eoin Morgan will lead KKR team in its match against MI

The next match of Kolkata Knight Riders will be against Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi. Morgan has earlier led his team to 77 victories from about 126 ODIs and also 30 victories in about 52 T20Is.

The CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders praised Dinesh Karthik for his efforts. He said that it takes a lot for a captain to step down from the captain’s post and put one’s team first.

He further said that the team is lucky to have Morgan as the new captain.

It will be interesting to watch Kolkata Knight Rider’s performance under the captaincy of Morgan. Kolkata Knight Riders are as of now at the fourth position on the points table.

They have competed in 7 matches till now and won in 4 of them. They have lost in 3 matches.
