This season Chennai Super Kings might not play the opening match IPL. Right before the start of the Indian Premier League around 13 members of its team tested positive for COVID-19.
Suresh Raina the vice-captain of Chennai Super Kings also left the team. Some robbers attacked his family and he had no option than to go back to his home. In such conditions, CSK might not play the opening match IPL.
Another Week in Isolation for CSK
The performance of the team is at stake. It has been quarantined again due to the rising number of COVID cases in the team.
The players can resume their training if they test negative for the virus twice.
The members of the team who have been tested COVID positive will have to spend 14 days in isolation. The team will start practicing from the next month. They will come to the biosecure bubble only if they pass the COVID tests.
Right now BCCI is in search of some new opener again Mumbai Indians in the 13th season of IPL.
The BCCI officials have said that CSK is not in he position to play IPL 13th season and will require some time to come out. Meanwhile, they need to finalize some other team for the opening match.
The opening match IPL schedule is not out yet
With just 20 days left for the dream 11 2020 IPL, the schedule has not been finalized yet by BCCI.
BCCI is taking enough safety precautions for the members of the teams. As a result, none of the members of other teams have tested positive for COVID-19.
All the teams except for Chennai Super Kings are practicing in their selected venues and time slots.
