ACA and Cricket Australia have given the news that Australian IPL players have moved to the Maldives from India. The players, coaches, and staff will remain in the Maldives till Australia does not remove the travel ban.
ACA and CA have expressed their gratitude to BCCI for moving the players to the Maldives. Meanwhile, Mike Hussey will remain in India as he has tested positive for the virus. As of now, Chennai Super Kings is taking care of him.
After Mike gets well, ACA and CA will assist BCCI to send him to Australia. BCCI postponed the IPL tournament because of the safety of the players.
Several players and supporting staff in the IPL have caught the virus.
IPL 2021 has been postponed till further notice
IPL 2021 will now continue after the monsoons according to some sources. Right now there is a third wave of COVID-19 expected to happen in India. Therefore it is not possible to schedule IPL immediately.
Wriddhiman Saha tested positive for the virus on Tuesday. As a result of this, the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad had to be postponed. After this, the match between RCB and KKR had to be postponed. Many players of the CSK squad tested positive for the virus as a result of which the match between CSK and RR also got postponed.
Looking at so many cases, BCCI finally decided to postpone the tournament.
Looking at the current COVID condition, Jason Behrendorff has donated money to India. He also urged other cricketers to come forward and donate money for the same.
He further said that his donation is nothing compared to the love and affection that India has shown to him.
Earlier Pat Cummins and Brett Lee also donated money for the same.
